Beautiful Southgate Ontario
Southgate is a township in western Ontario, Canada, in the southeast corner of Grey County. Southgate was formed on January 1, 2000, when the Village of Dundalk, the Township of Proton and the Township of Egremont were amalgamated. The headwaters of the South Saugeen, Beatty Saugeen and Grand Rivers are located in Southgate.
Truly a great place to raise a family, Southgate's unique blend of friendly people and picturesque surroundings offers people seeking a way to "get away from it all", an alternative to suburbia.
Community groups, service clubs, and active sports associations work together to weave a fabric of Community Spirit that supports and encourages youth involvement and recreation.

What's a "waste park" anyway?
Nestled up against the town of Dundalk Ontario (pop. 2100) lies 200+ acres of farmland that used to be the Carson Farm. Purchased by Southgate Township to locate Municipal sewage treatment and lagoons, a large portion of this land remained unoccupied until the Township began developing it.
By labeling this development "EcoPark", Dundalk and Southgate residents were led to believe that this would be an area environmentally-friendly businesses could locate. Little did we know plans were underway to use this land as Ground Zero for the massive importation and processing of wastes from big cities, Toronto being the main.
On this site you'll find the story of one town's fight to preserve itself and its future against not only Big Waste, but its own government.
